Peggy Hanley (Newton Mattocks)

Maggie Mattocks, or Peggy Hanley as she was known to us in high school, passed away from liver cancer on 22 Feb 2016. She was in a lot of pain for a few years; she can now rest in peace with Jesus.  

From Legacy.com - Margaret 'Peggy' 'Maggie Joy' Newton Mattocks entered into the presence of her Savior peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, surrounded by friends and family. Memories of her joy, love, and friendship will be forever cherished by her husband, Marty Mattocks of Dover; her daughter, Sarah Newton of Dover; her step-sons, Ryan Mattocks of Ellendale and Aaron Mattocks of Brooklyn, NY; her step-daughter, Beth Mattocks of Houston, TX; her parents, Dan and Margaret Hanley of West Palm Beach, FL; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Christine Hanley of West Palm Beach, FL; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane Hanley Standish and Jeff Standish of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda Hanley Colella and Guy Colella of West Palm Beach FL; and many cherished nephews and nieces and in laws. Peggy spent her early years in Florida and was a graduate of Cardinal Newman, class of 1970. She held an undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and Master's degree from Georgia State University. After graduation, Peggy moved to New Hampshire, where she resided most of her life. There she raised her daughter and had a long career as a software engineer. Peggy enjoyed fashion, home decorating, politics, and keeping up by phone with her sisters and mother. She will be most remembered for her loving, caring nature and beautiful relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Having touched so many lives, she will be deeply missed by her friends and family. A memorial service celebrating her precious and remarkable life will occur on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11:00 AM at Destiny Christian Church, 2161 Forrest Avenue, Dover. Friends will be received by the family from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the celebration service. Those wishing to send flowers for the service may do so by contacting Torbert Funeral Home at www.torbertfuneral.com; and/or will have the opportunity at the service to donate to a fund being created by her daughter for women's retreats through United Church, Dover. An interment service will be held at a later time in West Palm Beach, FL. Other informal celebration gatherings for friends and family are being planned for Bedford, NH, State College, PA, and Mercer, PA at later times.
